This show was produced by Blue Water Theatre Company in the spring of 2022. This production was made up of high school age actors and was a new team I had not yet worked with at the time.

This shows me draping the fleece onto the foam head base. it was later rewrapped but this was a good learning experience regardless.
I tried to loop the yarn pieces around a long length of yarn to create a thick head of hair almost like tracks in a weave. This was very tedious but it made the hair very thick.
Other props for the show included these crates used as desks, various office equipment, and lots of paper.

Interesting Challenges

Well, I made my first puppet for this show! The character of Mr. Hart was played by Lizzie Semington in drag for the first act and then a masculine puppet for the second act. The artistic goal was for the actor to be able to separate herself from the masculinity of the character in a satirical way through a hand rod puppet that was taken off at the end of the show.
I also got the opportunity to design the coffee sweetener and rat poison boxes. These are similar to the ones in the film but I had fun in details including the images on back that resemble each other even further.
